BREE ON VARIOUS SUBJECTS

Bree on Her Interests

(on surfing) "I've really gotten into it. I'm definitely a beach person. I grew up on a beach and I've tried surfing in Costa Rica. I loved it -- it was just so relaxing and peaceful, being there on the ocean. There are supposed to be some good surfing spots in New York, but I doubt they're as good as they were [in Costa Rica]." (SOD 8/31/04)

(on which OLTL co-star would be best on the show "Fear Factor") "Me! Of course, are you kidding me, I would love to be on Fear Factor. That would be the best. I have a really bad appetite, but you know, it's all about mind over matter -- I could do it. I'd actually like the first stunt when you get to drive cars over buildings and fly in the air and do crazy stuff. So, yeah, I would win at Fear Factor -- if they would just give me the chance." (SID 5/10/05)

"I try to stay out of the gym and I like to do things that are fun. I like to take my dog on really long walks. I try to surf as much as I can. Obviously, that's hard to do in New York, but generally I think it's important to do things you like." (SOD 8/8/06)

(on another career she might like to try some day) "There are tons of things that I can think of that would make me happy -- anything that sounded great and was a great opportunity -- like being a surf instructor or hotel owner." (SID 7/17/07)

"People always ask me, 'Are you a cat or a dog person?' I'm an animal person. I'd have a farm if I had the time and the money to take care of it, but I freakin' love them." (SOD 3/4/08)

(on which store she can spend hours in) "ABC Carpet & Home. They have, like, eight floors, with everything from books to couches to beds. They also have antiques and sell really great toys for kids from all over the world. It's just an awesome store." (SID 6/2/08)

(on her favorite comedian) "Sarah Silverman, because she's smart and funny, and nobody can deliver a joke smack out of nowhere like her. She'll come across as sweet, like a little girl, and then say something, and you're like, 'Oh my God, I can't believe she said that!' So yeah, she's hilarious." (SID 6/16/08)

(on her favorite SNL skit) "Tina Fey did an awesome little bit on Hillary Clinton during Weekend Update -- 'Bitch Is The New Black' -- and I loved it. That was my last favorite one, and one that no one remembers is 'Toonces The Driving Cat' [with Steve Martin and Victoria Jackson]." (SID 7/14/08)

(on her favorite dessert food) "Normally, I would just say chocolate, but I love panna cotta [a creamy Italian dessert], and I'm going to get really specific: panna cotta with an amazing citrus coulis that I get at Frankie's, a restaurant I go to a lot. They also have baked prunes with mascarpone cheese, and you think, 'Ew!' But it's the most amazing dessert I've ever had! But then again, I'd eat a handful of sugar for dessert -- I'll eat it all!" (SID 12/29/08)

Bree on Fashion and Beauty

(on what is beautiful to her) "Something uncontrived, something honest and magical." (SID 3/16/04)

(how she describes her style) "I like edge, funky, that kind of stuff. The focus should be fun. I love clothing. I actually had a retail store for a little while. My sister and I owned it. It's called Moondoggie. It's in Wasaga Beach [Ontario, Canada]." (SID 2/14/06)

"So many times, we're working late and there's an event to go to after work and we have to be there in five minutes. Of course, those are the times when people say you look beautiful! When you have a long time to get ready, you overpluck an eyebrow, put on too much makeup or re-curl your hair even though it looked fine the first time. You don't just want to be sitting there in your dress so you're fussy." (SOD 7/10/07)

"You never know what magazines are going to say about what you're wearing. You could pick something you think is fabulous and then everybody gives it a thumbs down. You have to feel it, because nine times out of ten, you can tell an outfit is wearing the woman and not the other way around." (SOD 7/10/07)

(on being named OLTL's Most Beautiful Woman in 2008) "It makes me feel funny [laughs]. Looks are just genetic, you know? You should call my mom and dad and congratulate them. They're hot." (SOD 10/7/08)

"I appreciate that I've got my mom's body type and neck, and I have my father's nose and eyes." (SOD 10/7/08)

"It varies. There are some days where I'll eat doughnuts for breakfast, lunch and dinner and then my fat ass will be the feature of my appearance that I hate the most. Or there are days where all the imperfections just melt together and I'm like, 'It's not bad today!' Nobody's going to be perfect-looking. I just find it fruitless to say, 'Oh, I hate this.' I'd rather just be like, 'I got a fat ass and I love it.'" (SOD 10/7/08)

"I feel pretty in something that fits well, and I feel the prettiest when I'm in the best shape, too. And not the thinnest, but the best shape, because everything fits better." (SOD 10/7/08)

(on the best beauty advice her mother ever gave her) "She told me that I had really beautiful Brooke Shields eyebrows and I should never pluck them, and I did not listen to her! It was bad. When I was in my young teens, I had like three eyebrow hairs over each eye. I've been growing them back ever since!" (SOD 10/7/08)

Bree on Romance

(on her best Valentine's Day) "I'm still waiting for it [laughs]! Actually, that's a lie, I had a good Valentine's Day a couple of years ago when I hung out with my girlfriends. We went out for karaoke night and sang bad songs. It was kind of an anti-Valentine's Day. I can't remember what the songs were, but they all said things like, 'You're a jerk.'" (SOD 2/17/04)

(on her biggest turnoff) "There are so many! I think the bigest is dishonesty. I also don't like it if a guy is rude. Another is if a guy says something bad about his mother. If a guy can't get along with his mom, that's a huge turnoff." (SOD 2/17/04)
