Nash & Antonio [2007-2008]

[Antonio wants Nash to run Capricorn for him]
Antonio: And now that I'm back at the PD, I have even less time to spend with Jess and the girls.
Nash: Oh, I see. So I'll run this place while you, Jessica, and my daughter are off skiing in Aspen?

Antonio: You know, you and Jessica really need to work this thing out. Ever since you got holed up in that old mine, you two have been clawing at each other.
Nash: I've been mostly trying not to get clawed.

Antonio: We're not done yet. That was just the large muscle groups. We're going to start working the small muscle groups.
Nash: You know what? I only got one small muscle group that likes working out. The rest of them -- well, they went on strike the last time I tried.

[After working out at the gym]
Nash: I am going to be hurting tomorrow.
Antonio: Yeah, well, it gets worse the second day.
Nash: Ah, thanks, pal.
Antonio: You ever thought you'd be calling me "pal"? I didn't.
Nash: Well, relax. Maybe I didn't mean it.

[Working at Capricorn]
Nash: You need me, I'll be in the back.
Antonio: Yes, okay. Tuck your shirt in, will you?
Nash: Never.

Antonio: What is it, Nash?
Nash: You saved my life. I owe you.
Antonio: It was purely for selfish reasons. And I didn't want to spend time looking for another restaurant manager.

[Nash tries to explain why he was locked with Jessica in the storage room]
Antonio: What did you do for those five minutes?
Nash: We talked.
Antonio: I see. What did you talk about?
Nash: You know, what's with all these questions, huh? You make me feel like a suspect. Am I a suspect, Antonio?

Antonio: You having an affair with my wife?
Nash: No, I'm not.
Antonio: That actually sounded genuine.
Nash: Well, it is.
Antonio: Next question -- do you want to have an affair with Jessica?
Nash: You think I want to have an affair with Jessica?
Antonio: I'm asking. You said to come out and ask, I'm asking. And given that I've gone out of my way to be decent to you, I expect you to be honest.
Nash: You know -- having an affair with a married woman, Antonio, isn't exactly my idea of a good time.
Antonio: Well, not in my book. But something's changed between you and Jess -- that's pretty damned obvious.

Nash: A relationship with Jessica is about the last thing in this world I'd want.
Antonio: Yeah?
Nash: Yeah. I can barely stand to be in the same room as her.
Antonio: You don't like Jess?
Nash: Can't stand her.
Antonio: All right. You did a good job of pretending.
Nash: Not really.

Antonio: (about Jessica) She's been a little unpredictable since her integration --
Nash: Yeah.
Antonio: A little intense.
Nash: "Intense"? She has been a major pain in my lower region.

Antonio: I just suggested that you go stay with her and the kids to help take care of them.
Nash: Yeah, it wasn't one of your brighter ideas.

Antonio: What the hell were you guys arguing about last night in the hallway?
Nash: You should ask your wife.
Antonio: No, I did. I did. She said that you were still reacting to -- to almost dying in the fire.
Nash: Huh. No, that's not quite it. She was angry at me for not having gotten her out of there, because if I had, then you wouldn't have gotten hurt, Princess.

Antonio: So there's nothing going on between you and Jess.
Nash: Nothing good.

[Nash brings Brennan to the loft]
Nash: (to Antonio) Sorry we're late. We got caught up in a scintillating game of peek-a-boo and lost track of time.

Antonio: Well, or you could join me for a beer -- I could use the company. Besides, what else have you got to do now that you're not working at Capricorn?
Nash: Ha-ha. Are we having another one of our little senior moments, Antonio, huh? Didn't we just finish talking about Jessica and I not --
Antonio: Oh.
Nash: Yeah.

Nash: (to Antonio) Well, you got something on the arsonist? What, a new lead or something new about the investigation? You can tell me, but then you'd have to kill me, right? Corny? What? Sorry, I've never -- never had a cop friend before.

[After barring Nash from Jessica's hospital room, Antonio finds him in the hospital chapel]
Nash: This is a sanctuary so I guess your boys in blue can’t kick me out of here, too, right?
Antonio: Think this is a joke?
Nash: No, I don't think this is a joke.
Antonio: Then what's with the crack?
Nash: I don't know -- maybe it's a defense mechanism. I'm feeling defensive, Antonio.

Nash: Hey, anything was possible with Tess.
Antonio: No, it seems like anything is "possible" with you.

Nash: You can make whatever ground rules you want for your child, but when it comes to my Brennan -- she's off-limits.
Antonio: I'm not talking about Bree.
Nash: Oh, did I forget to mention you can't make any ground rules about Jessica, either?
Antonio: She's my wife.
Nash: Yeah, and you treat her like your property.

[Antonio now knows that Nash and Jessica have been having an affair]
Nash: We never intended to hurt you, Antonio.
Antonio: Except when you were doing my wife.
Nash: No, not even then. Hey, how does it feel, huh? Feel pretty lousy? You feel embarrassed? You feel alone? Well, welcome to my world, because I've been the odd man out for months now. I just didn't know that Jessica was going to--
Antonio: Leave me?
Nash: No, fall in love with me.

Nash: You know, I tried to leave Jess -- after I tried to leave Tess. I -- I tried to give you space to enjoy your happy little nuclear family -- that's why I kept leaving town.
Antonio: But you always kept coming back, right?
Nash: You kept bringing me back! Think about it -- dinner with the family? You invested in my vineyard, you give me a job at the club? I tried to stay away from you guys.
Antonio: Not hard enough.
Nash: Oh, all right, you're right. You're right -- it's all my fault, ok? I put my happiness ahead of your happiness. I'm sorry.

Nash: You want to hear my side? You want to hear what I'm thinking? Here it is, you ready? What were you thinking??
Antonio: That my marriage vows meant something.
Nash: Your marriage vows? Grow up. I got to think about my family. Now, I care about you and your daughter, Jamie, I do -- I probably care too damn much. But this has been going on for too long. Jessica has chosen. I love her, and she's in love with me.

[Antonio brings up the fact that Jessica agreed to marry him right after her integration]
Nash: (to Antonio) She didn't even know who she was. But you -- you were so wrapped up in your fantasy -- the perfect little family that you're always going to have -- at you paid no attention to what was going on with her.

Antonio: (about Jessica) She stopped the wedding and went to you. She told you it was over, and when she turned back around she was at peace with it.
Nash: How could she have been at peace with it? Huh? You think she had time to "come to peace with it," in front of everybody she's ever known, at the altar?

Nash: (about Jessica) I'm in love with her, and I will fight for her, no matter what it takes.
Antonio: I don't want her anymore.
Nash: That's not true.

Antonio: (to Nash) We were a family for years -- until you came along. But now -- all those memories are dirty. What I remember now were all those times when I walked in and found you and Jess together, the two of you lying to me and Jamie, and it makes me sick!

Nash: Antonio, I'm sorry, but in what world could you and I have ever been friends?

Nash: You know what? When the doctors told me that the only way to save Jessica was to let go of Tess, I did it. I mourned the woman I loved.
Antonio: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Nash: You never did. My Tess and your Jess -- they both died on the same day. They both died the day they got integrated. The woman I am in love with now is not the same woman who you've been in love with for all those years.

[After the hospital bomb, Nash is trapped with Antonio]
Nash: Michael, Antonio is in trouble here. Can't you find another way down?
Michael: I'm trapped! Look, I'll talk you through it, ok? But you're going to have to be my hands. It's the only way we can save Antonio's life.
Nash: "We"?

[Michael is leading Nash through stitching Antonio up]
Michael: We don't want him waking up in the middle of this thing.
Nash: Oh, yeah, that'd be unpleasant for him.

[Antonio sees Nash and Jessica together after the hospital bombing]
Nash: Got something else on your mind?
Antonio: I hope the two of you burn in hell.

Antonio: I gave Jessica a part of my liver to save her life because it was the right thing to do.
Nash: Well, she would have died without it.
Antonio: The same principle applies for what you did for me. You did it because it was the right thing. If I would have died, it would have been hanging over your head. Right?
Nash: Yeah, I supposed if I had had time to think about it -- which I didn't -- I would have come to the conclusion that I didn't want to be left with your blood on my hands. But like I said, I didn't have time.

[Antonio plans to sell his share of the vineyard]
Antonio: I had my share of the place appraised. That's what it's worth.
Nash: You're selling out.
Antonio: Yes.
Nash: Just like that?
Antonio: A lot of things happen just like that.

[Nash is having trouble coming up with money for Antonio's share of the vineyard]
Antonio: Jessica could write you a check for my share of the winery. You could be done with it.
Nash: I don't want her to do that.
Antonio: Really? I thought your whole M.O. was using rich women, even if you have to marry them.
Nash: You can say whatever you'd like about me, but don't insult Jessica, please.
Antonio: You know, I wished that my wife hadn't cheated on me with another man, but you don't always get what you want, unless you're you, Nash.

[Nash thinks Antonio sold his vineyard share to Jared Banks out of spite]
Nash: Well, if you didn't sell it out of spite, then you explain to me, why -- why can't you cancel your contract with that other buyer and sell my vineyard to me?
Antonio: Because I made a deal out of good faith, and when I give my word, I keep it.
Nash: Glad it's not spite.

Jared: You know the good thing about me, Nash? I'm not Antonio.

[Nash and Antonio run into each other in the steam room]
Nash: Wouldn't it be nice if -- if maybe somehow, someday you and I could be polite with each other when we cross each other in the street or in a steam room?
Antonio: Hello, Nash. Goodbye, Nash.

Nash: (to Jessica, about Jared) You know that guilt I'm supposed to be feeling about Antonio? Well, I think that this is payback in spades.
