Nash & Natalie [2005-2008]
[Tess is locked in the library with Viki, Clint and Dr. Jamison undergoing a therapy session]
Natalie: Well, I'm going in there.
Nash: No, you're not.
Natalie: Get out of my way. This is none of your business.
Nash: The hell it's not. The girl I love is on the other side of that door, and if there's any chance of her walking out of there, I'm not letting you or anybody else getting in the way of that.
Natalie: Look, I know that you and I don't agree on what's best for my sister, I realize that you are not a bad guy. And I've also promised my parents that I would try and tolerate the situation better.
Nash: Wow. And you came all the way down here to tell me this?
Nash: (to Natalie) If you think that I would do anything to hurt Tess -- or Jessica -- well, then you are the crazy twin.
Natalie: You are destroying my sister. The only reason that Tess is sticking around is so she can be with you!
Nash: I get it! You think that if I give up on Tess, Tess will go away.
Natalie: Maybe.
Nash: I guess you were lying before when you said that you don't think that I'm a bad guy. You really think that I'm an evil guy who will do anything he has to to get what he wants, no matter who he hurts in the process -- is that about right?
Natalie: That's one interpretation.
Nash: Oh, this is ripe. Ripe. You know what? I think we're done!
Nash: How is it going?
Natalie: It was going great till I ran into you. Didn't know you were back. I trust you're not going to be here too long.
Nash: You're too trusting.
Natalie: Do you understand anything about the disease that Jessica has? I mean, you could have caused her to have a complete mental breakdown. This is not a phase -- it's an illness.
Nash: I am quite clear on Jessica's illness.
Natalie: You know, I -- I don't think you are or why would you risk her health by kidnapping her?
Nash: Your sister's more than just Jessica. Tess is a very big part of her, and that baby is mine. She's my daughter, my flesh and blood, and I love her and I love Tess.
Natalie: Well, that's heartwarming. So in order to get close to your sweet, little flesh-and-blood baby, you force her mother into a situation that is extremely dangerous for her? And then when that doesn't work, you come back and you hit on your ex?
Nash: Natalie, go away.
Natalie: You just better watch your step around my family. And when I say "family," I mean my sister and my niece.You may be her flesh and blood, but you will never be a father in the way it counts.
Nash: Don't you dare talk to me about my daughter.
[Natalie unexpectedly pays Nash a visit]
Nash: Something wrong with Jessica? Bree?
Natalie: They're fine.
Nash: Let me guess. You're here to invest in my vineyard.
Natalie: Dream on.
Natalie: The reason I'm here is to make sure you don't pull any stunts at my sister's wedding.
Nash: Oh, how trusting.
Natalie: Honey, you haven't earned it.
Nash: Touch'.
Natalie: My sister's in love. If you do anything to ruin this day for her --
Nash: Uh-huh.
Natalie: I will personally set a match to this vineyard and you and watch you both burn.
Nash: Wow. Is that little speech you just gave me a part of the whole maid of honor duties or --
Natalie: I'll see you at the wedding.
Nash: Yeah.
Natalie: Oh, and of course, if you decide that you're not going to show up, nobody's going to miss you.
Natalie: (to Viki) You know, when the world comes to an end, the only one left will be Nash and the cockroaches.
[Nash visits Jessica's hospital room before she goes in for the liver transplant]
Natalie: She's really out of it.
Nash: Yeah. I just -- I just want to spend one more moment with her before she does this, you know?
Natalie: Thank you for -- um -- getting Antonio. You're saving her life, the both of you together.
[Natalie gets upset when Nash admits he doesn't know for sure that Jessica's been taking her medication]
Nash: Look, I don't hover over her, all right? She's got a timer. When the timer goes off, I assume she takes her meds.
Natalie: And she's only taking care of a baby and has a ton of pills to take, not just for the Hepatitis, but for the transplant -- I mean, the least you could do is help her.
Nash: You know, the least you could do is know what you're talking about before you flap your gap!
[Nash has gotten the news that they've found a liver donor for Jessica]
Nash: That's fantastic. It's beautiful. It's wonderful.
Natalie: Isn't it amazing?
Nash: Did I leave out "amazing"?
Nash: Marty -- she's a shrink. If anybody knows about repression, shouldn't it be her?
Natalie: That's not funny.
Nash: It wasn't meant to be funny.
Clint: If you don't pay me back, I'm sending Natalie to find you.
Nash: Ooh, no, not that. Anything but the crazy redhead. Kidding.
[Natalie is hungover and resting at Nash and Jessica's cottage]
Nash: Figure I'll take this opportunity to score some points with the sister-in-law who hates me.
Natalie: No, it's -- I really like Antonio, you know?
Nash: Yeah, I know.
Natalie: You make my sister very happy. Which in turn makes me very happy.
Nash: Thank you.
Nash: You still haven't told me why you tied one on last night.
Natalie: Who needs a reason?
Nash: You do. You're a Buchanan. I've been around Buchanans for a while. And except for Tess, who was kind of rebelling against Buchanans, I've never seen a Buchanan drink too much.
Natalie: I am left to deal with how I really feel about John and Marty kissing.
Nash: I had to watch Jessica with Antonio -- a lot. If you want to talk, call me.
Natalie: Thanks, I might do that.
Jessica: (to Natalie) You're getting along with Nash? Who are you and what did you do with my sister?
Natalie: Okay, it's the new me, all right, and I am, like, never drinking anything that strong again unless it's -- tea.
Nash: Until tomorrow night. Ha!
Nash: What is Jared going to do for fun without us around, huh?
Natalie: I don't know. Maybe he'll get used to not having Buchanans around to torture.
Nash: No, I doubt it.
[Nash warns Natalie about Jared]
Nash: I've been living under the same roof with him. If you bunked with him, you know that he snores. You'll know that he leaves the lid open, and chews with his mouth open, that he eats anchovies on his pizza, that he watches golf on TV.
Natalie: Great, thanks for the heads-up.
Natalie: I know that Jared's made you and Jess miserable.
Nash: "Miserable"? He threatened to send your sister to prison and separate her from her child.
Natalie: Okay, but he's not going to do that.
Nash: (sarcastic) Oh, thank heavens.
[Nash and Jessica worry about Natalie's attraction to Jared]
Nash: We are concerned for you.
Natalie: Well, I hate to say it, but you have not been a part of this family long enough to be concerned about me.
[Natalie compares her situation with Jared to Jessica's situation with Nash]
Natalie: Is it anything like you when all of us tried to warn you about this jerk here? Because he was a user and a home wrecker? But how did that turn out for you?
Jessica: That's not fair.
Natalie: Why? I mean, am I saying something wrong here?
Nash: No, you said it right. She's -- she's right. I was -- I was a user and --
Natalie: And he went after my sister when she was a happily married woman.
Nash: Yes. I did all of that, and far more things that you will never know about, but who was there 24/7 in my face letting me know what the family thought about it all? You. Was it frustrating as hell? Yes. Was I mad about it? No. Why? Because you had your sister's best interests at heart. You love her. But, baby, payback -- it's a bitch.
Nash: Coffee?
Natalie: No, thank you. Actually, I'm going to see if Jared wants to go to breakfast with me.
Nash: (trying for sincerity) Enjoy.
Natalie: That was very good!
[Natalie knows Nash and Jessica want to talk about her decision to date Jared]
Natalie: Just count to 10 after I'm gone. You'll be in the clear.
[Natalie leaves the cottage]
Jessica: She is making such --
Nash: (interrupting her) Not 10 seconds yet.
Natalie: And, you know, that whole lecture that you gave me back before we left Texas about how you knew Jared so well because you used to be him? Anyway, you said that I should run as far away as I can because I might turn out like Claudia. What if I turned out like Jessica? Happy and in love -- would that really be so horrible?
Nash: If he's your uncle? Yeah.
Natalie: I hate to say it, but I think that the Buchanans would agree to have Buchanan Enterprises buy out your vineyard.
Nash: All right, well, then they are as stupid as you are and they can all go to hell.
[Jessica is trying to spring Allison from jail]
Jessica: Natalie, please. I can't do this alone and Nash is not going to help me.
Natalie: Because Nash has some brains in his head.
Natalie: Antonio left?
Nash: Yeah. Thanks to Jessica. Somehow, she managed to answer all of his questions without letting it slip that the two of you are responsible for springing a convicted crazy felon.
Nash: (to Jessica about Jared and Natalie) Asa was a bastard but he's not your granddad anyway, which is why you're so nice and the two of them are the way they turned out.
Natalie: What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Nash: It's supposed to mean that you're a self-centered, self-interested -- the two of you will do whatever you got to do to get what you want, won't you?
Natalie: Are you jealous of Grandpa's success?
Nash: Jealous? Of a man who had absolutely no morality and treated everybody like crap including his own family?
Nash: What I said earlier -- um -- sorry. Heat of the moment.
Natalie: I've heard worse.
Natalie: (to Jessica about Nash) Well, he's very good at making wine -- even though he thinks I know nothing about it.
[Nash has just punched Jared out and Natalie defends Jared]
Natalie: He didn't mean to hurt you.
Nash: You! You, you dirty little tramp --
Jared: Leave her out of this, okay?
Nash: (to Natalie) Now your sister has lost her home. Because of you, your sister has lost her home.
[Jared grabs Nash and flings him to the side -- directly through a skylight]
Jessica: Nash!!!!
[Natalie and Jared arrive outside Nash's hospital room]
Natalie: Where are my parents?
Bo: I'm sure they're looking for Jess.
Natalie: You know, while -- while she's not in, I think we're going to -- we're going to go in there.
Bo: Don't you think it'd be a good idea if you go in there alone?
Natalie: If I thought that, I would go in there alone.
[Natalie brushes past Bo with Jared following after her into Nash's hospital room]
Natalie: Nash, God, I'm -- I'm so, so sorry. To think I was so tough on you when you first were with my sister, but it's -- it's just because I love her so much. And you know you proved me wrong. I mean, I will never forget how you pulled her through hell when she was so sick and -- God. I -- I promise I will take care of Bree and Jess. You can count on me for that.
Jared: I want you to know something, man. I'm going to spend the rest of my life making this up to you. And to Jessica. And to your little girl. You know, you're -- you're what my dad likes to call a real gentleman. Which is, like, the biggest compliment you can pay a guy, you know? I just wish I could've gone and gotten out of my own way and been a little more like you.
[Nash groans in pain]
Nash: Get out. Get out!
[Viki, Bo and Clint are upset with Natalie and Jared for going into Nash's hospital room]
Natalie: I know that you think I did the wrong thing my taking Jared in there. But that's what we had to do, because we both had to say that we're just sorry.
Jared: Dorian Lord set this in motion. She is the reason Nash is dead.
Natalie: No, honey, you started it and I helped you. And don't forget, okay, we are partly responsible for Nash going over that skylight and dying.
Tess: Natalie, the whole point is to keep you two apart, to rip you from each other's arms like you did Nash and me.
Natalie: Nash wouldn't want you --
Tess: You don't know a thing about Nash, so you just shut up.
Natalie: (to Tess) I never wanted Nash to die. I loved Nash. He was family to me.
Jared: Okay, we've got to think like Tess. What's the most important thing in the world to her?
Natalie: Nash.
[Tess tortures Natalie and Jared by going over the details of Nash's death again]
Tess: One moment, Nash was my husband. He was the father of my children. And then, one moment, there was breaking glass. Do you remember the sound? Like champagne glasses clinking at the vineyard --
Natalie: Stop, please.
Tess: And then, one moment, he was -- he was falling. He was flying. I wonder if he knew. You know, I wonder if -- if he had enough time. And then --
Natalie: Tess, please, stop!
Tess: He was on the ground. There was broken bones and bleeding. It must have felt like forever.
