Nash & Viki [2005-2008]

[Nash and Viki's first meeting]
Viki: Where's Jessica?
Nash: Oh, and who the hell is this?
Viki: Not that it's any of your business. I'm Jessica's mother. Who the hell are you?
Nash: I'm the father of her child.

[Nash, unaware of Tess's DID, wants to leave town with her]
Viki: Please don't take her away! Believe me, you don't know what you're dealing with!
Nash: "What I'm dealing with"? When will you people stop telling me that?

Nash: I met your mother.
Tess: She's -- she plays with people's heads.
Nash: She loves you. She loves you the way a parent is supposed to love a kid. She loves you the way I want to love our kid, if it is my kid.

Viki: We want what is best for our daughter.
Nash: Your daughter, Jessica. Because with all due respect, ma'am, you don't know Tess.

Nash: (about Tess) I remember thinking she was the most impressive woman I'd ever met. She was just too good to be -- well, I should've listened to my gut on that one, shouldn't I?
Viki: You are as much a victim in all of this as Tess is.
Nash: I don't feel that way.

[Viki is shocked to hear about the way Nash took advantage of Claudia Reston]
Viki: Well, so far, what you did sounds absolutely reprehensible.
Nash: Yes, it was reprehensible.

Todd: What about this Nash guy? What do you think of him?
Viki: He wants Tess. He doesn't want Jessica. And the harder he fights for Tess, the more I feel he is trying to take my daughter away from me.

Viki: You want to know if when Jessica is integrated, will there be enough of Tess left in her to still love you, hmm? Nash: One can't help hoping, yeah.
Viki: Yes, well, I'm afraid I can't help hoping the exact opposite.

Viki: I do not want you trying to endear yourself to Jessica. Do you understand? It will just confuse her. Her stability is strengthened by the stable influences in her life. That is her home, her family, and Antonio! You, sir, are not a part of her world!
Nash: "Sir"? Fine. You've made your point.
Viki: Once Jessica is integrated, Tess will be gone.
Nash: Jessica may very well be carrying my child. So with all due respect, Mrs. Davidson, that makes me a very big part of her world.

Viki: I firmly believed that your presence was keeping Jessica from getting better.
Nash: Yes, you've made that quite clear.

Viki: Dr. Jamison feels that you are integral to Jessica's recovery.
Nash: How so?
Viki: He thinks the status quo will help keep Jessie balanced.
Nash: And that's me, "the status quo."
Viki: Oh, look, that didn't come out right.

Viki: I was the first one to accept Tess as a whole person.
Nash: I'm sorry, but I really have to disagree with you on that, ma'am.
Viki: Oh, ok, fine, all right. The first one here at home.
Nash: Hmm.
Viki: And unfortunately, the very last to accept you, and again, I'm -- for that, I'm sorry.

Viki: Clint and I have a very long history of digging in and butting heads and when he just suddenly approved of you, I instinctively disapproved of you.
Nash: Wow. Well, I suppose I've been disapproved of for much less.

Viki: (about Nash) I really wish I could have talked him out of leaving. You know, I cannot believe that I have come to rely on the boyfriend of my daughter's alternate personality.

[Jessica has just given Nash the news that he is the baby's father]
Jessica: He didn’t say much.
Viki: That won’t last.

Viki: (to Clint) For the life of me, I do not understand why you are so taken with Nash.

[Integration has happened and Jessica "won" over Tess]
Nash: Well, I guess I'll scoot. Give you all time to celebrate, if that’s the right word.
Viki: Actually, yes, it is.

Nash: Jessica is a great girl. You and Mrs. Davidson did a great job with her.
Clint: You know, it's funny that you should say that because I was trying to convince Jessie's mother of that just now.
Nash: Yeah, I know she feels like she let her down. You, too. But it has occurred to me that I would have done anything to have parents like you two. It's another reason I wish things had worked out, me and Jess -- Tess.

[Clint has just described Viki as "patient, steady, and honest"]
Nash: By "patient, steady, and honest," you do mean judgmental, bullheaded and --
Clint: I wouldn’t go there, son.

Viki: Jessie may be integrated, but she is still extremely fragile. You must -- you "must" allow her to make up her own mind about what she wants.
Nash: Hmm. That’s exactly what I said to her before she married Antonio.

[Jessica, sick in the hospital, wants an omelet and Viki finally agrees to go get one]
Viki: (to Nash) If she thinks I'm not running this by her doctor, she has another thing coming. I may very well be back with chicken soup and crackers.
Nash: Gotcha. Don't forget the hot sauce.
[Viki leaves]
Jessica: (to Nash) Oh, you got in trouble!
Nash: I got spanked.

Viki: (about Jessica) I want her to come home to Llanfair with me when she’s released.
Nash: Huh. You know, with all due respect, Mrs. Davidson, Jessica and I have waited a long time to be together. Her home is with me, and that’s where she’s going to go.

Viki: (about Jessica) You know that she’s going to need an awful lot of home care, and you really think you can give her better medical attention than I could at Llanfair with a nurse?
Nash: Ooh, with a nurse -- I might have to buy a new outfit, but I think I'd make a pretty smashing nurse.

Nash: Mrs. Davidson, you have been great. You have been wonderful. You have given Jessica and I room to be together--
Viki: (correcting him) "Me."
Nash: Me -- to be together.

Nash: When we got here, she was pretty out of it and temperature was up to 102, but they brought it back down to normal, so --
Viki: Well, that’s good. Did they tell you what caused the fever?
Nash: No, I'm not wearing a ring, and my name is not Buchanan, so...

Viki: (about Jessica) She needs you to fight for her, and you can do that. I do believe that together, you and Jessie can beat the odds. I really believe that.
Nash: I believe that, too.

[Natalie is on the phone with Viki]
Natalie: What are you doing there, and what does France have that we don’t have?
Viki: It’s not that, darling.
Nash: (to Natalie) Ask the little vixen why she’s hiding out in Paris.

[Nash learns that Viki will be in Paris for the holidays]
Nash: (gleeful) So my mother-in-law is not going to be here for Christmas?

[Viki says her goodbyes to Nash before he dies]
Viki: Nash? I love you. We'll never forget you.

[Viki speaks at Nash's funeral]
Viki: And Nash saw Jessie through an illness that could have been fatal, but he never ever stopped believing that his love could save her, that she would pull through. And she did.

Viki: You know, Dorian, I will always be grateful to you for that, always, and I mean that. But I will never forget what you did to B.E., what you did to Nash, and probably what you did to Charlie, so I don't think you can do those things without expecting retribution.
